Quick inspection readiness checklist

  • Keep extinguishers visible, mounted, and easy to reach.
  • Do not block units with storage, furniture, displays, or equipment.
  • Check that the pressure gauge is in the operable range when applicable.
  • Report missing tags, broken seals, corrosion, dents, discharge, or damage.
  • Keep a copy of inspection reports with your facility or safety records.

Service Preparation

Small steps that make service easier

Different systems need different access. A few things to have ready before your technician arrives will keep testing and inspection moving.

For extinguishers

Keep each unit visible and unblocked by storage, furniture, or displays, and report any unit that is missing, discharged, damaged, or has a broken tamper seal.

For alarm systems

Know where the panel is located, keep keys or access codes available, and let tenants or staff know before scheduled testing begins.
