Inspection reports built to survive an insurance audit

A mechanical engineering degree, nine years in risk consulting for U.S. insurance carriers, and certification as a Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) through the NFPA.

Risk consulting means reading other people’s inspection, testing and maintenance records for a living — deciding whether a building’s fire protection is actually in the condition its paperwork claims, usually from records that were never written expecting to be read that closely. That is the read every Fortress report is written to survive.

Every inspection is documented to the standard an insurance reviewer applies — legible, dated, and specific enough that a tag on the wall is not the only evidence a unit was actually opened, weighed, or tested. Deficiencies are recorded with photographs and a severity rating, so a finding says both what is wrong and how urgent it is.

Portal access comes with every account — reports, asset inventory, deficiencies, and due dates in one place, available whenever the AHJ, the carrier, or the property manager asks. That used to be a national-accounts perk. Here, it is standard.
